Meera Sunder, MBBS, MRCOG

Born and raised in Bangalore, India, Meera’s medical career has spanned three continents. After completing med school at St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore she worked in India before moving to Britain to train in obstetrics and gynecology. After a substantial stint in UK, during which she earned membership in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, she moved to the United States where she was drawn to the exciting field of family medicine. She worked as a health advisor for the Department of Community Health Improvement, Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA). She is currently a resident physician at CHA, a teaching affiliate of Tufts and Harvard Medical school. She has many medical interests including women’s health, integrative medicine, health education, and public health. She is a strong advocate of an holistic approach to medicine and wellness.

Outdoor activities can be spoiled by getting Lyme disease from a tick bite. Know what to do to protect yourself (and your pets) from this infection and its unpleasant symptoms, as well as what to do if you have already been bitten. If you do end up with a tick “on board” it is important to remove it correctly and know when to call your doctor.
