Medicare covers lung cancer screening

You need to meet strict criteria, get proper counseling on pros and cons, and be tested at a qualified center.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has made a preliminary decision to cover the cost of annual CT scans to check for hidden lung cancer. To get the screening paid for, a man would need to meet certain eligibility requirements, get counseled by his doctor on the pros and cons of the test, and
get scanned at a qualified center. If you are not a Medicare or Medicaid beneficiary, check with your insurance carrier to find out if you are covered for the service.
