Don’t wait until you turn 50 to screen for colon cancer
It's important to note that the ACS isn't necessarily recommending that all of these individuals get a colonoscopy—a traditional screening test for the disease in which a doctor uses a long, flexible tube equipped with a light and camera to examine the inside of the colon. Rather, it recommends working with your doctor to choose from multiple screening tests — which include noninvasive stool tests as well as colonoscopy and other imaging tests.
