Interesting assessment of how we view health. My father was struck with polio in 1955 and became a quadriplegic living first on a rocking bed then in an iron lung. An MIT graduate he was funny and smart and taught his 4 children to navigate the world. He had a plethora of drugs and my mother took nothing. I hardly partook in the 60’s drug experimentation. My grandmother was a Christian scientist and to my parents annoyance would claim my father could walk if he tried. I am an alternative medicine woman wrapped in modern medicine. My sisters are alternative, my bother, not. I think you might have struck a chord here as its our view of the medicine as much as the medicine itself.
