Shady Abohashem, MD, MB, BCh, MPH

Dr. Shady Abohashem is an investigator and head of cardiac PET/CT imaging trials at the Cardiovascular Imaging Research Center at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), and an instructor in radiology at Harvard Medical School. His research sits at the intersection of advanced noninvasive imaging and cardiometabolic health, spanning mechanism and population burden, with particular emphasis on cardiovascular prevention, the heart-brain axis, and the biopsychosocial aspects of heart disease.

Dr. Abohashem earned his medical degree summa cum laude in Egypt, completed postdoctoral training in cardiovascular imaging at MGH, and holds a master of public health degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
