His long-term research goal is to address problems in human health and disease by developing computational and informatics methods to reason over both genomic, metagenomic, and exposomic information, spanning molecules to populations toward more precise medicine, specifically type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Dr. Patel received his graduate degrees in biomedical informatics (MS, PhD) from Stanford University.
