Fall-proofing homes helps prevent injuries

Simple changes in the home reduce the number of falls people experience, according to a study in The Lancet. The modifications included handrails on staircases, grab bars and slip-resistant mats for bathrooms, outside lighting, and slip-resistant surfacing for outside decks and porches.
