Every other year, the New England Chapter of the American Medical Writers Association recognizes “outstanding work in medical, biomedical, and health communication” with the Wil Solimene Award for Excellence in Medical Communication.

I’m pleased to report that four Harvard Health books won Wil Solimene awards this year. They are:

• Almost Addicted, by J. Wesley Boyd, MD, PhD, and Eric Metcalf, MPH
• Chicken Soup for the Soul: Say Goodbye to Stress, by Jeff Brown, MD
• Almost Depressed, by Jefferson Prince, MD, and Shelley Carson, PHD
• The Harvard Medical School Guide to Tai Chi, by Peter M. Wayne, PhD, and Mark L. Fuerst

The founder and long-time faculty editor of the Harvard Health Letter, Thomas H. Lee, MD, also won a Wil Solimene award for his book, Eugene Braunwald and the Rise of Modern Medicine.

The authors were recognized at an awards luncheon this weekend. Physician-blogger Keven Pho, of KevinMD.com fame, gave the keynote address.
