Pain or Difficulty When Swallowing

Pain when swallowing is often caused by a temporarily inflamed or sore throat, but it can sometimes be caused by more serious conditions. Difficulty swallowing that is not accompanied by pain is generally a more worrisome symptom, since it can be caused by various serious disorders.
