Men’s
Health Issues & Problems
Up to date insight on men's health issues
and common men's health problems from Harvard
Medical School
Men’s health issues — while
they often overlap with women’s concerns — have
unique aspects that the concerned male
must understand. Although prostate disease
is uniquely a men’s health problem,
a wide range of conditions including heart
disease, diabetes, high blood pressure,
and some cancers affect men in certain
ways. For example, men may experience different
symptoms than women and some treatments
and preventive strategies affect men differently
than women.
Men’s health problems can range
from chronic ailments like diabetes, heart
disease and high blood pressure, certain
lung diseases, and Alzheimer’s, to
wellness issues like exercise and fitness,
nutrition, weight control and emotional
health. As men mature they may become more
concerned with the effects of aging, prostate
health, and changes in sexuality.
Harvard Health Publications and the faculty
of Harvard Medical School have created Harvard
Men’s Health Watch, a monthly
newsletter devoted to the health issues
that matter most to men. In addition, Harvard
Health Publications publishes a number
of in-depth special health reports that
cover a wide range of men’s health
concerns. You’ll learn the latest
information on prostate health, how to
boost your energy level, how to keep your
memory sharp, and how alternative medicine
can complement traditional health care.
You’ll get treatment strategies for
high blood pressure, heart disease, lung
diseases, and various cancers. You’ll
learn how to stay healthy and robust longer
through a combination of good nutrition,
exercise, and weight control.
You’ll find credible, relevant,

health issues, direct from the experts
at Harvard Medical School. From prevention
